Never ever go into a Hallmark store after the end of July, PAgent. They officially launch their line of Christmas ornaments then, and they're up until after the end of the year. As the other holidays come and go, the Christmas section gets inexorably larger and larger, until it takes over the whole store shortly after Hallowe'en.

I agree 100%. Xmas lights in July at Costco is normal! But when I was waiting for the elevator last week in my apartment building and heard Xmas music piping in from the local light rock station in SF, I wanted to scream. Not only do I absoultly *hate* christmas music, but it's not even T-day yet! Why can't those bozo's wait til Black Friday to start with the commercialism? Are they afraid we're going to forget or something?

Ah, tiz the season for bad christmas music, commercialism shoved down our throats, testy and impatient people, and a feeling of needing to overdo yourself from the year before. I miss the days of making sugar cookies and decorating them and listening to the Chipmunks sing goofy christmas songs. I also miss browsing the neighborhoods' xmas lights...who outdid who this year?

It is Nov. 15, and my xmas shopping is *done*! Well, all except for my parents, and they're going with me to do my shopping for them when I go home next month.
